Folding In Redux

Folding In Redux

Folding In Redux is part of larger piece of research I did in Bebe Miller's Choreography course at The Ohio State University. In this research I explored the lineage of Judson-era dancing spaces in New York City, focusing on the way that space shapes dances and dancers, and how many of these same spaces continue to house dance.

Redux emerged from an interview with Amy Miller, Associated Artistic Director of Gibney Dance Company. In the interview she evocitavely described a duet from Gibney Dance's evening-length work, Folding In. Using the audio from that interview, I worked with Maddie Leonard-Rose and Tim Bendernagel to reimagine that choreography, moving it from 890 Broadway in New York City to Sullivant Hall in Columbus, OH.
