The Simon Family Scholarship supports the development of pre-professional New York City-based dance artists by subsidizing class and other training opportunities.

The cost of living in New York City increased to the point where pre-professional dance artists cannot afford the number of weekly classes necessary to hone their technical and creative skills. Workshops and intensives also often remain out of reach. This scholarship seeks to offset some of these costs by subsidizing dance classes, workshops, and intensives.

The scholarship seeks New York City-based applicants who are pursuing a professional career in dance performance, who are training consistently toward that goal, and who are unable to afford the costs accompanying a rigorous schedule of technique class, workshops, and intensives.
